Le MotoGP is back at the Ricardo Tormo circuit, a year after the final race was cancelled due to flooding caused by Storm Dana. To open the Valencia Grand Prix weekend, Jack Miller set the fastest time in Free Practice 1 – the results of which were quite surprising – with a lap of 1:30.382.

Indeed, behind the Australian, Ai Ogura and Aleix Espargaró complete the top 3. While Jack Miller has a 3 tenths advantage over his two closest pursuers, we observe the same gap between 2nd and 10th place, which testifies to the close differences between the machines on the small Valencia circuit.

The first Ducati in this ranking is in 5th place. Franco Morbidelli set a best time of 1:30.860, ahead of Alex Márquez (6th). The two French riders on the grid, Johann Zarco and fabio quartararoThey finished in 13th and 14th places in FP1. They were each almost a second behind the leader.

For his return to the track with Yamaha's V4, Augusto Fernández – a wildcard rider in Valencia – secured the 10th fastest time in the session. Regarding the return of injured riders, Maverick Viñales impressed, already less than a tenth of a second behind his teammate, Enea Bastianini, in 19th position. Meanwhile, Jorge Martín was more than half a second slower than Marco Bezzecchi, who was nevertheless only 18th in the session.

The grid riders will return to the track this afternoon, around 15:00 PM, to compete in the MotoGP Valencia Grand Prix Practice session, which will send the ten fastest riders directly to Q2.
