The highlight of Acosta's race was undoubtedly his long battle with Marc Márquez. Far from seeing it as just a simple duel, the KTM rider turned it into a genuine learning experience. I spent a lot of time behind him observing how he managed the race. It was really interesting to see what he did differently from me. »
After being overtaken by Márquez following an overtaking attempt, Acosta deliberately chose to stay on his wheel. I knew that sooner or later the guys behind would catch me—that's what happens in every race. So I took advantage of being behind him to study his lines. It's always easier when you're riding behind someone. »
While the on-track experience was valuable, the technical assessment was more mixed. Acosta acknowledges that the result was predictable: We more or less knew that it was going to be missed today. "Since their third place at the United States Grand Prix, the team seems to have lost ground again."
« We need to analyze the data and understand why we struggled so much this weekend. We're starting from scratch. "The questions remain open regarding the origin of the performance deficit. The Spaniard and his team will have work to do before the next round, on June 7th at the Balaton Park Circuit (Hungary), to find answers."
