Yamaha seeks answer to Misano 2 - Yamaha MotoGP

After a week's break, Yamaha is back at the Misano circuit to contest the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix of 2018. MotoGP, otherwise known as Misano 2, given that it is the second consecutive race that the discipline is contesting on the Italian circuit after the San Marino GP.

During the last race weekend, the Iwata factory performed rather well, fabio quartararo equaling his best result of the season with a ninth place in the Sprint and a seventh place in the main race.

The Official Test that took place on the Marco Simoncelli Circuit the day after the hostilities was in this direction, confirming Yamaha's recent progress.

Fifth at the end of this day of driving, the Frenchman is looking forward to competing again at Misano, in order to have a clear idea of ​​his team's position in the hierarchy before starting a busy period, which will see the discipline occur seven times in nine weeks.

“We are back in Misano after the test and the first race here, recalls the Tricolor on the sidelines of the second weekend of competition in Italy. During the test we confirmed the chassis and tried new settings. My overall ranking was quite good: fifth. But we know that a test is not the same as a Grand Prix. After this race weekend we will have a better understanding of our position."

Yamaha is taking care of its preparation for 2025

Doubts that the director of the Blues, Massimo Meregalli, also hopes to raise, who insists on the importance of obtaining clear answers on the effectiveness of the elements tested two weeks ago, before facing the two Triple Headers who will make up the long Asian tour at the end of the season.

“After a positive test and a few days off, we are back in Misano, ready to get to work, adds the Italian. This is the last GP before we go on a tour of Asia. We are curious to see if some of the conclusions we made during the test of the test apply in real conditions, during this GP.

We have had a very intense season so far, with many private tests between official tests and race weekends. And this last third of the season is no less busy. We will race three weekends in a row on two occasions. The endurance of the drivers and team members will be paramount over the next seven weeks.” concludes Massimo Meregalli.

We will therefore have to keep an eye on Yamaha on the track in the coming weeks. In addition to preparing its 2025 season on a technical level, the Japanese brand has just sealed the last contract for its future satellite team, Pramac Racing.

While Fabio Quartararo, Alex Rins and Miguel Oliveira were the three names that Yamaha had already confirmed on the sidelines of Misano 2, Jack Miller was announced this Thursday to complete the crew.
