It's a busy week continuing in the world of MotoGP. After the presentation of Trackhouse Racing, the official structure of Aprilia took the plunge this Thursday. Jorge Martín and Marco Bezzecchi finally lifted the veil on the Aprilia RS-GP25 that they will have in their hands next year.
The year 2025 marks the beginning of a new era for the Noale factory, which aims to join Ducati at the top of the MotoGP hierarchy. The first big announcement was that of Jorge Martín's number. The reigning world champion was thus able to confirm that he would ride with the number 1 this season, leaving free the number 89 that he had worn until now.
The duo of riders he forms with Marco Bezzecchi, around whom the new Aprilia Racing project is centered, then took the opportunity to discuss a number of subjects, starting with their objectives for 2025.
"My goals are very clear, now we have to focus on being the best version of ourselves, Aprilia and I, begins Jorge Martin. I'm in the right place to do great things, it's going to be an exciting challenge, we've all got a lot of guts. I really feel the warmth of the team and I think it's the perfect place for me."
And Marco Bezzecchi added. “I am happy to have joined this team and the whole Aprilia team. It will be fantastic and I am really happy to represent such an important brand. For me it is a great pride, both as a person and as a rider. I can’t wait to be on the track, working to try to get good results. There is a lot of desire from everyone, and it is something I really appreciate.”

Martin and Bezzecchi bury the hatchet
Questioned at the very end of the presentation, the two drivers then confided in each other about the relationship they have. They thus demonstrated honesty, admitting that their relations have not always been easy.
"It's good to have the world champion on my side, I can learn a lot from him, adds Marco Bezzecchi. Obviously, when we were younger, our relationship was more difficult, but that's normal. We were young, and less mature. I think that now, we have grown a lot. For me, he is a reference. Last year he achieved the unthinkable. Having the opportunity to share the garage with him, and to learn from him, is a great honor for me. I will do my best to be close to him, and sometimes, even often, to beat him.
On this subject, Martin clarifies the nature of their complicated relationship in the past, while confirming that this story is now behind them. “I’m happy to have Marco by my side. We fought for the Moto3 title in 2018, and almost until the last race. Now we’re doing well. For Aprilia, for the team, it’s important that we work together, and that we grow with this bike, to be faster and faster. I wish him the best. We’ll fight well, and we’ll see what happens.”
Aprilia's new bike will hit the track shortly at Sepang, during the private tests of the 2025 MotoGP season. However, the brand's new technical director, Fabiano Sterlacchini, can already confirm that all areas of the bike have been improved, from aerodynamics, to the chassis, electronics and the V4 engine.
