- After missing his start in the Sprint, Pecco Bagnaia completely messed up the start of the main race. The reigning world champion slipped and crossed the first corner in seventh place.
- Up front, Marc Marquez is in control and manages to keep his first place ahead of Pedro Acosta and Jorge Martin.
- The eight-time world champion then took advantage of an incident between Jorge Martin and Pedro Acosta to build a comfortable lead. Attacking the young rookie, the number 89 came close to touching Acosta. The two men went wide but managed to contain the return of Alex Marquez.
- While the #89 quickly got away from his opponent to start consolidating his second place, Pedro Acosta struggled to resist the Ducatis behind him. The KTM rider suffered on the straight, and then saw Alex Marquez push him away from the podium.
- Pecco Bagnaia slowly found his rhythm in this management race. On the ninth lap, however, he took advantage of a mistake by Franco Morbidelli, who ran wide, to promote himself to fifth place. He then took Brad Binder in his wake to try to catch up with Pedro Acosta.
- In contact with the n°31, the factory Ducati rider will overtake him on the 12th lap, taking advantage of his top speed. Overtaking achieved at the cost of intense resistance from the 20-year-old rider. He then has 11 laps to secure a place on the podium, moving 1.5 seconds behind Alex Marquez
- At the halfway point, Marc Marquez already has a three-second lead over Jorge Martin, lapping three tenths faster than the latter on each lap.
Bagnaia adrift
- The Aragon Grand Prix could mark a turning point in the championship MotoGP 2024 in view of the consequences of the incident that involved Pecco Bagnaia and Alex Marquez five laps from the finish. While the leader's younger brother went wide, Pecco Bagnaia managed to get the better of the latter on the outside in the following corner. However, he closed the door slightly too early and when the Spaniard straightened his machine to try to avoid him, they touched and went off.
- This collision could have been terrible for Bagnaia who went under Marquez's Gresini before ending his race in the gravel trap. This operation will in any case not help his championship, while his two main rivals are in the lead. Pedro Acosta thus regains a place on the podium.
The Return of the Prince of Aragon
- Untouchable throughout the race, Marc Marquez races to victory. The eight-time world champion is back at the top in MotoGP, 1043 days after October 22, 2021 at the Grand Prix of Emilia Romagna.
- Jorge Martin could not do anything, but secured an important second place that allows him to lead the championship by 23 points. Pedro Acosta completed the top-3 to record his first double podium since the Grand Prix of the Americas.
- Enea Bastianini took advantage of a good pace in the second half of the race, and some racing incidents, to take fifth place.
- While he was just outside the top 10, fabio quartararo fell during the sixth lap, saying goodbye to his hopes of points.
- Johann Zarco finished the race in fourteenth position, and took two important points. With Nakagami (12th) and Joan Mir (15th), three Hondas finished in the points, something that had not happened since this year's Portuguese Grand Prix.
