- After a Free Practice 1 session largely dominated by Marc Marquez, the Spaniard returned to the fray and quickly propelled himself to the top of the Test standings. At the same time, his brother and teammate, Alex, was less successful. Marc's younger brother faced technical problems and was forced to return to the pits escorted by a scooter.
- Behind, Francesco Bagnaia wakes up. After spending the first session of the day at the back of the rankings, the number 1 quickly makes his way into the top-5.
- The mid-session will be marked by a crash of fabio quartararo at turn 3, immediately followed by that of Augusto Fernandez.

- Johann Zarco will then take charge of serving the interests of the French drivers, since the Cannes driver is promoted to second position a few moments later. He is then half a second behind Marc Marquez, still untouchable in the lead.
- In the last quarter of an hour, a few riders were finally able to worry the multiple world champion's time trial. The first to do so was Pedro Acosta, who completed an attempt less than a tenth slower. He was followed by Maverick Vinales (+ 0.202) and Aleix Espargaro (+ 0.025).
- The #93 will not be under pressure for long, as he clocks a time of 1:46.384 to recreate a margin of error of three tenths compared to Jorge Martin, who came to steal second place in the meantime. He then goes on to clock a time of 1:45.801, to put himself a little more in safety. He will cross the checkered flag in the lead.
- While the factory Aprilias overtook Jorge Martin in the final moments to complete the top three, Pecco Bagnaia managed to secure his place in Q3 with seventh position.
- Johann Zarco will remain the surprise of this session. Author of an excellent time considering the equipment at his disposal, the Frenchman finished eighth. He thus becomes the first Honda rider to go directly into Q2 this year.
- A more complicated session for Fabio Quartararo, who finished 20th after his fall.
- Disappointment also for Enea Bastianini and Pedro Acosta who failed to qualify in the top 10.
