Free Practice 1:

  • Marc Marquez set a first reference mark following the first minutes of driving. The Spaniard posted a time of 1:39.871, while only Brad Binder was able to catch him below the 40 minute mark in the first attempts, blocking second place in the table.
  • After announcing his retirement yesterday at a press conference, Aleix Espargaró begins the session with a solid provisional third place in front of his home crowd. Jorge Martín and Francesco Bagnaia are then respectively fourth and sixth. The established order will remain unchanged until the end of the session.

  • Hazardous start to the session for Pedro Acosta who fails to get into the rhythm, even taking a detour into the gravel trap.
  • The clocks keep coming in the last ten minutes, but no one has the necessary resources to dislodge Marquez.
  • Jorge Martín managed to do it four minutes from the end of time. The Pramac driver completed an attempt in 1:39.579, which allowed him to take control with three tenths ahead of his compatriot.
  • Behind, Pedro Acosta manages to take control of his KTM, after a few slips, and climbs into the top-10 for the first time with the seventh time, before improving to take a place in the top-5.
  • In front of the checkered flag, no one is able to threaten the championship leader. Brad Binder improves to maintain his third place, while Marc Marquez fails to do better than his initial time.

  • Great first free practice session for Francesco Bagnaia, who we know had a discreet start to the weekend. The reigning world champion sets a mark in 1:40.303 to take seventh time.
  • The French seem to have mastered their subject at the start of the weekend, tenth and eleventh after the first passages, fabio quartararo and Johan Zarco gain confidence by taking the thirteenth and fifteenth final positions.
