Ducati test rider Michele Pirro will replace Marc Márquez for the Australian Grand Prix from October 17th to 19th. The nine-time world champion was injured during the last race in Indonesia, having been pushed by Marco Bezzecchi early in the race. The Spaniard, who has a right collarbone injury, will be out for at least the Australian and Malaysian rounds. Marc Márquez is resting until further notice.

In fact, Ducati has confirmed the Participation Challenge Italian driver Michele Pirro (39 years old). He will be racing his 70th Grand Prix. The Italian also made his last appearance on track at the 2024 Solidarity GP, replacing Italian Fabio Di Giannantonio at VR46. A year earlier, he also replaced his compatriot Enea Bastianini – injured in Catalonia – at the San Marino Grand Prix and the Japanese Grand Prix

The Italian team has not yet decided on Michele Pirro's participation in the next round in Sepang (Malaysia), where Marc Márquez will also not be able to race.
