The weekend had already started well for the poleman, who recorded the second-fastest time in Friday's practice session, behind Marc Márquez. Building on this momentum, Marco Bezzecchi secured his second pole position of the season at Misano, to the cheers of the home crowd.

The Italian will start alongside Álex Márquez (Ducati Gresini) and fabio quartararo (Yamaha) for the San Marino GP. Delighted, Aprilia Racing director Massimo Rivola underlined the importance of the collective work behind this result. It's special, for sure. We've always said it's not our circuit, but it's definitely Marco's circuit, greets Rivola. It's great to see Aprilia at this level, and I'm delighted to see the attitude of both riders. Jorge (Martín) showed humility in understanding that Marco had a chance of taking pole. And he didn't, and he helped him. I'm really proud of all the team's work."

Jorge Martín, whom his teammate had helped qualify for Q2 while he was having a difficult day, returned the favor. During practice, Marco Bezzecchi had offered his wheel to his Madrid teammate, who was often hampered by his speed over a lap, on his own initiative.

Grateful, the Spaniard deciphered the unexpected strategy adopted by Bezzecchi during his press conference after the Tests.

« We didn't talk before the session, Martín conceded. I was right behind him. He was superb. I think it's good for both of us, thanks to Marco. It's also positive because I understood some strong points and some weak points. Even afterward, we talked and he asked me, 'How did you see this corner, and that one?' I think it was important to be together because we both wanted to be at the front. And if we have to fight during the race, we will fight, but the main thing is that we are both at the front and that we make Aprilia stronger. I think this can be a turning point for Aprilia in the future. Because if we help each other, we can go further. " hopes Martín.
