Aprilia anticipates the best for 2025: "The engine is much more efficient than last year"

Aprilia has completed the five days of pre-season for the 2025 campaign MotoGP with a smile, although things had started badly. The manufacturer was deprived of Jorge Martin for the entire test days, and of Raul Fernandez for three of them, due to injuries. The Noale factory therefore had only Marco Bezzecchi and Lorenzo Savadori, its test driver, to count on to complete its program.

Despite everything, the Italian surprised his new team with his adaptability and his qualities in terms of the development of the bike. The ex-VR46 rider, who is making his first steps in a factory team, took advantage of the two days of action in Thailand to focus on pure performance.

Third of Day 2, just two tenths off the reference time set by Marc Marquez, Bezzecchi was rather satisfied at the end of his pre-season.

“These tests in Buriram allowed me to understand a lot about how to make the RS-GP25 work best, confides the Transalpine. It was a productive two days. I managed to do some good timed attacks. As well as a sprint simulation. I'm very happy."

Aprilia at the forefront?

The end of Aprilia's 2024 season was complicated, both for Aleix Espargaro and Maverick Viñales. But the work done by the brand during the winter would have made it possible to erase the major flaws of the RS-GP, to the point of making its riders very optimistic for the start of the season.

"We have worked well. We have made a lot of progress, continues Marco Bezzecchi. The bike is competitive and the 2025 engine works very well everywhere. Finally, we will soon be back in competition!

For his part, Lorenzo Savadori has been working on finding the best package to start the season, and thus prepare for the return of Jorge Martín. The latter should be present at the start of the championship, in just under two weeks. However, he will have very little experience riding the RS-GP25.

Satisfied with his work, Savadori draws the same conclusions as Marco Bezzecchi regarding the bike's performance. He is therefore delighted to see his peers exploit the fruits of his labor on the track. “We are happy. We see that the RS-GP25 is competitive and that the 2025 engine is much better than the 2024 one. Of course, it is just a test. But both Marco and Ai Ogura from Trackhouse were fast.”

Come on, we believe in it, especially since even if they are still a little less fast, Ducati is not undefeated on all the tracks.
