While Ducati's official machines have dominated the championship for several years now, the factory team has never managed to win a victory in ArgentinaThe Termas de Río Hondo circuit, where the Argentine Republic Grand Prix takes place, remains a major challenge for the drivers of the Italian brand.

However, with the arrival of Marc Marquez to the Ducati Lenovo Team, the hopes of victory are growing stronger. The Spaniard has an impressive history at Termas de Río Hondo, where he has won three times, in 2014, 2016 and 2019. His last victory in Argentina came in 2019, where he dominated the race by a comfortable margin of 9,8 seconds over Valentino Rossi.

Marquez has not raced in Argentina since that date due to injuries, but his return to this circuit promises to be interesting, given his recent performances.

Along with his younger brother, Alex, he completely dominated the opening round of the season. The Marquezs are also the only drivers in the field to have led at least one lap in the race this year.

Bezzecchi, only Ducati winner

Francesco Bagnaia, on the other hand, has never achieved a podium in Argentina in MotoGP. He only has one top-10, with the fifth place he achieved in 2022. After two third places at the Thailand Grand Prix, however, there is no doubt that the n°63 is a serious candidate for victory.

The only victory that Ducati has to its name in Argentina is the one that Marco Bezzecchi achieved in 2023. It was the Italian's first victory in the premier class. He was then riding for the VR46 team. The official Ducati team is therefore still looking for its first success on this circuit.

Marc Marquez, who dominated the Thailand Grand Prix to open the 2025 season, is emerging as a serious candidate to break this curse.
