Despite this disastrous start to the race, the 2021 world champion did not give up. He gradually gained places to finally finish 15th, 25,148 seconds behind Marc Marquez, the winner of the event.Knowing that there was more to be gained from this weekend, the French driver did not hide his disappointment at the finish.

"There's not much to say, he says. The contact with Bezzecchi in the first corner was unfortunate. I went wide, ended up last, and our pace wasn't very good all weekend.. Let's see if we can do a little better at the next GP."

Marco Bezzecchi's apology

"It was my mistake, I braked too late, admitted the Italian pilot. I managed to avoid Franco Morbidelli, but unfortunately I hit Fabio Quartararo's rear wheel. I have already apologized to his entire team, but I would like to take this opportunity to apologize again to Fabio.. "
