- The second session MotoGP The weekend begins in Malaysia. Now it's all about locking in a place in the top 10 to secure direct access to Q2.
- While Jorge Martin seemed to be in more difficulty than his rival this morning, the Spaniard propelled himself straight into the lead with a time of 1:58.978. In trying to reach the limit, the Pramac rider made a small detour through the gravel trap halfway through the session, but without consequences.
- After a slight fall by Brad Binder in the first minutes of these tests, it was Aleix Espargaró who lost control of his Aprilia twice in turn 9.

- As a reminder, the teams have a lot of information on the Sepang circuit, having carried out the Shakedown there, as well as the first winter tests. In this game, KTM seems to be able to exploit this data, combined with its new package wonderfully. While Jorge Martín approaches the last quarter of an hour of the session in the lead, in 1:58.939, his closest pursuers are called Jack Miller and Pedro Acosta.
- Things accelerated however during the second time attack of this session, and the RC16s were no match. The GP24s of Martin, Bagnaia and Bastianini moved in front. Franco Morbidelli was then fifth, the quadruple of official Ducati was prevented by the fourth time of fabio quartararo.

- Martin will fall during his last attempt, at turn 2. Leaving the way open to Bagnaia to improve. The Italian completes the tests in the lead, ahead of Martin and Bastianini.
- Marc Marquez moves into the top 10, and a late improvement from Franco Morbidelli knocks Pedro Acosta down a place in Q2.
- Yamaha put both of its machines in the top 10 in testing for the first time this year, with Fabio Quartararo and Álex Rins each six-tenths off the lead.
- Johann Zarco, the first Honda, is only thirteenth.
- This Saturday, the Qualifications will begin at 3:50 a.m. in France. The start of the Sprint will be given at 8:00 a.m.
