On the evening of the Catalan Grand Prix MotoGP, sixth round of this 2024 season, Jorge Martín took advantage of the abandonment of Francesco Bagnaia during the Sprint to extend his lead in the championship a little further.

The No. 89 now has 39 points more than Francesco Bagnaia, and can therefore have a blank weekend at Mugello (Italy) next week, while retaining the lead.

Tied on points with Enea Bastianini before heading into the weekend, Marc Marquez broke away from the Italian and returned to Bagnaia. He is only two points behind the reigning world champion.

Aleix Espargaro's successful weekend – victory in the Sprint and fourth place in the race – allows him to get the better of Brad Binder in the standings. The Catalan hero now occupies seventh place in the table.

The two Trackhouse Racing drivers took advantage of Jack Miller's retirement in the main race to pass in front of the Australian.

Not this change at the bottom of the ranking, except that Takaaki Nakagami now claims 20th place from Alex Rins.
