- Before starting the weekend of MotoGP In Spain, it is worth noting the absence of Jorge Martin and Miguel Oliveira due to injury. The two drivers are replaced by Lorenzo Savadori and Augusto Fernandez respectively. However, 23 drivers will be taking to the Jerez circuit this Friday morning, as Aleix Espargaro is competing in his first Wildcard for HRC.
- In terms of time, as we've become accustomed to this season, the Marquez brothers are battling it out alone at the front. Marc and Alex battle it out for the fastest time throughout the early part of the session, with the Gresini driver slightly gaining the upper hand over his elder brother.
- The French are in good form at the start of the weekend at the Jerez circuit. After spending most of the session setting encouraging times, fabio quartararo propels himself into third position in the final ten minutes of action. At this point, Johann Zarco is in eighth place. The Nice rider, who reached the finish in the top three of the Sprint last year before receiving a penalty, finishes the session with the third time, in 3:3.
- In the final moments, things accelerated. However, no one was able to dethrone the Marquez brothers, who completed another session in the top two places this season. Alex Marquez had the luxury of beating his elder brother with a final time of 1:36.831. Marc, for his part, set a best time of 1:37.188.
- Maverick Viñales is not out of the running this weekend. Fresh off his impressive weekend in Qatar, the local rider took his KTM to fourth place in this first session of the weekend in Spain.
- Pecco Bagnaia starts Friday discreetly, with the eighth time of FP1.
- The action will resume at 15:00 p.m. in MotoGP at the Jerez circuit, during practice for the Spanish Grand Prix.
