Le MotoGP is back to compete at the start of this second part of the eleven-round 2024 season. In Great Britain, the celebrations of the 75th anniversary of the discipline are gaining momentum, as each team arrived at Silverstone with a special historic livery. In the standings, Francesco Bagnaia is ten points ahead of his direct opponent, Jorge Martin.

- The session begins and eyes quickly turn towards the four Aprilias. On the one hand because Aleix Espargaro and Maverick Vinales quickly begin to challenge the official Ducati, and on the other hand because Trackhouse Racing unveils its new livery for the rest of the season during these FP1s.
- In terms of time, Aleix Espargaro is the first to finish to claim the lead in the ranking. The Catalan, however, will quickly be caught by Jorge Martin. Eager to regain the lead in the Drivers' standings, which he lost in Germany, the Pramac driver gets into shape with a time of 1:59.627.
- At the end of the session, more and more drivers began to progress below the two-minute mark, but the top-3 changed very little. Before the checkered flag, Martin maintains his advantage, while the Aprilia and Vinales and Espargaro are hot on his heels.
- Eighth in the standings three minutes from the end of the allotted time, Marc Marquez lost control and ended up in the gravel trap. He finally ranks 10th.

- Only two Ducatis finished in the top-5. Besides Martin, Morbidelli is placed behind Miller (4th). Francesco Bagnaia is only eighth before the checkered flag.
- fabio quartararo starts the weekend with a top-10, setting the ninth fastest time of the session with his Yamaha. Johann Zarco finds it more difficult to serve his interests, and ranks nineteenth in EL1.
