Free Practice 2:

  • Like the Friday sessions, Aleix Espargaro and his Aprilia quickly took the lead, before entering into battle with the official Ducati for the head of the ranking.
  • In front of the checkered flag, however, it is Jorge Martin and Francesco Bagnaia who will have the last word against the Catalan's RS-GP. The Spaniard is ahead of his main rival by 68 thousandths to complete EL2 in the lead.
  • Pedro Acosta started the session with an exit, but ultimately finished 10th.

Qualification 1:

  • Many drivers are coveting the two remaining places for Q2, after having failed during practice the day before. However, it was Alex Marquez and Pedro Acosta who took the lead during the first attempts. However, Franco Morbidelli and the Trackhouse Aprilia of Raul Fernandez and Miguel Oliveira are also engaged in the fight.
  • At the end of the session, the ranking changes, but the two previous leaders return to the charge, to ensure their place for the rest of the qualifying session.
  • Faced with European machines, the French cannot fight. Johann Zarco and fabio quartararo finished 6th and 8th respectively in this Q1 (16th and 18th on the grid).

Qualification 2:

  • If Jorge Martin has dominated the weekend so far, Francesco Bagnaia started Q2 better than his opponent, taking provisional pole ahead of his teammate, Enea Bastianini. However, it was only a postponement, since Martin was then third, two tenths behind the official Ducati.
  • In the second part of the session, some favorites were hampered by traffic, while Pecco Bagnaia struggled with a tear-off that came off his visor. Before beginning their final attempt, Maverick Viñales fell in sector 1. An error which directly served his neighbor in the garage who was completing a lap just faster than that of Bagnaia. Aleix Espargaro thus takes pole position for the British Grand Prix.
  • Alex Marquez takes a good fifth position, while his older brother, Marc, is only eighth.
  • The MotoGP British Grand Prix Sprint will begin at around 16:00 p.m. (French time) this Saturday.
