Marc Marquez finished second for what was his 142nd Grand Prix podium. The Spaniard is starting to follow Jorge Lorenzo, who is only ten lengths ahead of his compatriot, in fourth position in the ranking of the drivers who have the most.

The French Grand Prix also hosted the second consecutive podium for the Gresini driver after the one he scored in Spain. This has not happened to him since 2021 and the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix, which followed that of the Americas.

By finishing third at Le Mans, Francesco Bagnaia scored his thirty-eighth podium in MotoGP. He is only two short of equaling Andrea Dovizioso, in second position on the list of riders with the most top-3 finishes with Ducati.

Casey Stoner and his 42 appearances on the box with the Bologna firm are no longer safe either.

First disappointment

Pedro Acosta experienced his first race crash in the premier category, after finishing sixth in the Sprint.

The young rookie puts an end to an impressive series of appearances in the points, which saw him be the only driver on the grid to have joined each of the events contested in 2024 with a few points in his pocket.

One again

Ducati has once again locked down the three available podium places, and naturally extends its personal record of 51 consecutive Grands Prix with at least one of its representatives in the top-3.
