At the Argentine Grand Prix of MotoGPThe Marquez brothers struck hard once again, locking down the top two positions in each event. In Thailand, they became the first brothers to achieve a double. This perfect weekend allowed them to make even more history. It's an opportunity to look back at some of the key figures behind their dominance.

Marc Marquez at the top

  • By making his mark in Argentina, Marc Marquez claimed his 64th MotoGP victory and his 4th at Termas de Rio Hondo (after 2024, 2016 and 2019). This victory was also his 90th career win, which allows him to equal Angel Nieto for 3rd place among the riders with the most Grand Prix victories in all categories.

  • After winning in Thailand, the No. 93 has now won the first two Grands Prix of the season. This has not happened since 2014, the year of his second MotoGP world championship.

  • Since the introduction of the Sprint, and thus the new race weekend format, in 2023, no driver has yet dominated two consecutive races in this way. Marc Marquez is indeed the first to achieve the triple of pole, fastest lap and victory in both the Sprint and Grand Prix, in two consecutive weekends.

The Marquez brothers undivided

  • For his part, Alex Marquez has had his best start to the season yet. His second-place finish gives him his first consecutive podium finishes since the French and Aragon GPs in 2020.

  • As in Thailand, the Marquez brothers were the only ones who could claim victory. In 2025, they not only scored a one-two finish in every qualifying round and every race, but also in the first two rounds of the season. Since the beginning, they are also the only two drivers to have led at least one lap in the race.

  • Marc and Alex Marquez held onto the top two spots in the championship after the Argentine Grand Prix, with the elder brother holding a 16-point lead.
