Once again, it is Marc Márquez who will start from pole position during this 2025 season of MotoGP, this time on the Balaton Park track, which is hosting the world championship for the first time, now back in Hungary. The Spaniard will be joined on the front row by Marco Bezzecchi and Fabio Di Giannantonio, both of whom made it through to Q1.
Enea Bastianini and Franco Morbidelli will accompany for their part fabio quartararo on the second row of the grid. The Frenchman is still not completely satisfied with the performance of his Yamaha, but he is getting the most out of it. Pedro Acosta, Fermín Aldeguer and Luca Marini will start, Saturday and Sunday, from the third row of the grid.
Penalties for Alex Márquez and Jack Miller
The first change to the Sprint grid compared to the Grand Prix grid will be on the fourth row. While Joan Mir will start tenth on both days, Álex Márquez, who was eleventh, has been given a three-position penalty for Sunday's Grand Prix. Pol Espargarò, who was twelfth this Sunday, will therefore move up one place on Sunday's grid.
Brad Binder, Jack Miller, and Francesco Bagnaia will make up the fifth row of the grid this Saturday, but the Australian will also receive a three-place grid penalty on Sunday for driving too slowly on the racing line, like Álex Márquez. Bagnaia will therefore move up two places on Sunday's grid, which is far from enough to reassure him after a particularly difficult start to the weekend.
Raúl Fernández, Jorge Martín and Johann Zarco qualified from sixteenth to eighteenth place, ahead of Miguel Oliveira, Álex Rins and Ai Ogura, who brought up the rear on his Trackhouse Aprilia. The Sprint starts this Saturday at 15 p.m., while the Grand Prix will start at 14 p.m. on Sunday.
