The 2026 season will mark the debut in MotoGP of three-time Superbike World Champion Toprak Razgatlıoğlu. At the first Grand Prix of the season in Thailand, he will become the first Turkish rider to compete in the premier class. Known for his instinctive riding style, his rookie season in MotoGP will certainly be one of the highlights of the season.
His point of comparison will be Jack Miller, a pillar of the Pramac project since its association with Yamaha, and preferred to Miguel Oliveira last year to continue the adventure.
“This is a very special moment for me, as I join the Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP family,” the person in question confided during the presentation of his team for the 2026 season, this Tuesday in Siena (Italy). The team's history and its strong partnership with Yamaha played a key role in my decision. This is a new chapter in my career, and I want to approach it from the outset with a long-term vision.
With the first test sessions of the year fast approaching, Toprak Razgatlıoğlu has already had the opportunity to test the MotoGP bike he will be riding for Yamaha. Last November, he took part in the official Valencia test, scheduled two days after the final race of the season.
"The initial tests with the new YZR-M1 V4 were positive, particularly in terms of acceleration and corner exit, He continues. Of course, this is just the beginning: in MotoGP, performance is the result of continuous work, data sharing, and progressive improvement, and that is our current priority.
However, he is not setting any specific performance targets for the upcoming season: "This season, I want to contribute to the development: adapting to MotoGP, understanding the bike and the level of competition, and gaining consistency race after race. Results are important, but at this stage, the process is paramount."
And to conclude: “I have found a very strong and motivated team here, and I am grateful to Prima Pramac Yamaha and Yamaha for their trust and support. I will give my best on every lap, and with patience, commitment, and teamwork, I think we are on the right track.”
