Quartararo and Zarco detail their teams' approaches - Michelin

Yamaha and Honda are undoubtedly the two manufacturers most in difficulty since the start of the 2024 season. MotoGP. At Silverstone again, the representatives of the two Japanese brands experienced some difficulty in gaining a few points.

While these factories are working hard to return to their former levels, they each hope to achieve a pleasing second half of the season, with visible progress.

To achieve this, their approaches differ, however, as expressed by the French pilots, fabio quartararo (Yamaha) and Johann Zarco (Honda) in Great Britain.

As for the Iwata factory, the strategy consists of testing as many things as possible in the hope of finding the solution. A procedure which, however, somewhat destabilizes the Habs when the direction to follow is not clear at the start of the weekend.

“In any case, we try too many things. We are clearly lost, confides the 2021 MotoGP world champion. I don't even know what base we used for the Sprint at Silverstone. Throughout the weekend, we change bikes all the time, and it's quite complicated.

There is no question of adopting such an approach in the garage of the other Frenchman involved in MotoGP. Johann Zarco prefers to gradually gain confidence, trying to make the configuration worked for the weekend work.

“Looking too hard is risking getting lost even more, and causing the pilot to lose his confidence, explains the Honda driver for his part. I'm working on my confidence. Je lets the team work, because they try things beforehand. I can also give them information. The most important thing is that the bike remains balanced, this allows me to gain confidence during the weekend. In any case, we have seen that it is not the details that radically change our performance. What will help us is to carry out a new project, hoping that it goes in the right direction. »
