It's a closely linked story that took shape again this Wednesday, March 11th. It was in the very heart of the Sochaux factory, where FC Sochaux-Montbéliard was founded in 1928 by the family Peugeot that the press conference officially announcing this merger was held.
This morning, we officially announced Peugeot's return alongside FCSM during our press conference.

The car manufacturer owned the club until 2015 before selling it to the Chinese group Ledus. FCSM, now in the National (third division), nearly went under in 2023 before narrowly avoiding bankruptcy thanks to some forty investors. However, there is no intention on the part of the Peugeot brand to return as a shareholder. This five-year partnership will take various forms:
- The presence of Peugeot on the FC Sochaux-Montbéliard jersey
- Increased visibility on the uniforms of club staff and at the Stade Bonal
- Support from the Training Centre, created by Peugeot in 1974
- A presence on the young players' kits
- Recognizing the sporting, educational and academic achievements of young professionals
- Support for initiatives aimed at making the Stade Bonal a place to live and gather for the people of Franche-Comté
- Match sponsorships and events aimed at the general public and amateur football
- Hospitality arrangements allowing Peugeot to energize its network and invite its employees.
« The brand is proud to participate in this new phase of development, which gives renewed meaning to a shared history built on industry, sport, and local pride. Together, Peugeot and FCSM are turning a new page, looking towards the future, continuity, and shared ambition. " says Alain Favey, Managing Director of the Peugeot brand.
« Since 2023, we have been rebuilding FC Sochaux-Montbéliard around clear fundamentals: a solid sporting project, a strong social dimension, and deep local roots. The return of Peugeot to our side gives even more meaning to this vision. It's a powerful signal for the club, for our region, and for everyone who believes in the future of FCSM. " emphasizes Clément Calvez, President of FC Sochaux-Montbéliard.
With this partnership, Peugeot hopes to reconnect with its history, while cultivating its heritage of " popular brand ».
