Inspired by the film Cars, the Porsche 911 Sally Special was sold for more than $3 million at the RM Sotheby's auction in Monterey (United States).

Collaboration between Porsche and Pixar has paid off. And what fruits! Resulting from the partnership between the German manufacturer and the animated cinema giant, the 911 Sally Special, inspired by the character Sally in the film Cars released in 2006, was put up for auction on Sunday near Monterey where the famous Monterey Car was held Week.

In his press release, Porsche announces that the 911 Sally Special was sold for no less than 3,6 million dollars (a little over 3,5 million euros)! This is a record for a new model from the Stuttgart brand sold at auction. In the atmosphere “ supercharged » from the crowded auction room, this unique Porsche model aroused “ considerable interest ". After long bidding, it was finally a telephone buyer who won the bid and therefore the 911 Sally Special.

Every dollar of the $3,6 million raised in the sale will be donated to Girls Inc. (an organization that encourages all girls to be stronger, smarter and bolder through direct service and advocacy) and USA for UNHCR (an organization for aid to refugees).
