Ben Sulayem, who is seeking a second term as head of the International Automobile Federation (FIA) this December, met with the President of the Republic to "reaffirm the historic partnership between France and the FIA." The two men, along with Yann de Pontbriand and Pierre Gosselin, discussed motorsport, road safety, mobility, and online youth protection.

While it also has offices in Geneva (Switzerland) and London (United Kingdom), the FIA headquarters, which houses the president's offices, remains in Paris, on the Place de la Concorde. President Macron and President Ben Sulayem also discussed France's current representation in Formula 1, whether at the level of drivers, manufacturers or promoters, as well as support provided to facilitate visas for FIA global delegates participating in meetings in Paris.

“Today, we emphasize the deep and historic link that unites France and the FIA, a link that dates back to the creation of our federation in Paris more than a century ago.”Mohammed Ben Sulayem, elected for the first time in 2021 for a four-year term, explained that, barring any surprises or progress in the legal action brought by candidate Laura Villars, it should be renewed next December. “Together, we are committed to promoting safer roads, more sustainable and accessible mobility for all, and to encouraging innovation in motorsport for the benefit of communities around the world. France has always been at the heart of automotive progress, and it is a privilege to work alongside President Macron to ensure the continuity of this legacy while addressing the challenges of the modern mobility landscape.”
