4. Sébastien Ogier
- World Rally Champion for the 9th time
- Winner of his 10th Rally Monte Carlo
France now has 19 world championship titles WRC thanks to Sébastien Ogier, who perfectly managed to resist the pitfalls of the Saudi Arabian tracks to clinch a ninth crown at the end of a thrilling three-way battle with his teammates Elfyn Evans and Kalle Rovanperä.
The Gapençais player enters the history of his sport by equalling another Sébastien. LoebAt the top: the two Frenchmen are alone in their own world with nine titles each. Yet, Sébastien Ogier did not make this ninth title a priority, preferring to spend time with his daughter and especially his 9-year-old son, who takes precedence over all sporting ambitions.
But when you're a champion of this caliber, you don't pass up such a great opportunity to make history… While he was initially supposed to compete in a partial program, the driver Toyota he finally changed his tune in the summer by announcing that he would try to fight for the title by competing in all the remaining rounds.
From then on, it became clear that he was the overwhelming favorite against his less experienced and often less consistent teammates. Apart from a crash in Central Europe caused by a slow puncture, the nine-time world champion never left the podium.
An exceptional year capped by a 10th victory at the Monte Carlo Rally in January, his ninth in the WRC. Also victorious in Portugal, Sardinia, Paraguay, Chile, and Japan, the 41-year-old driver left his rivals in the dust. Special mention also goes to his co-driver, Vincent Landais, who secured his first WRC title.

Fourth place is a joke. Second behind Verstappen, I can understand, but this is utter nonsense. He's world champion after only a partial season... What more can I say?
