Notation method: The journalists at AUTOhebdo each submitted their top 50 from a pre-defined list of 80 names. The driver in first place received 50 points, down to the fiftieth, who received one point. The average of the votes produced a ranking based on the driver's (or crew's) performance in their category during the year 2025.

10. Isack Hadjar

A Formula 1 rookie, Isack Hadjar had a very convincing season in his debut in motorsport's premier category. The Frenchman, driving for Racing Bulls, finished 12th in the championship, but more importantly, secured his first podium finish at the highest level, taking third place at the Dutch Grand Prix in Zandvoort. He is the team leader of Faenza after the departure of Yuki tsunoda in Red BullThe Frenchman finished in the points 11 times this season and showcased his talent in qualifying sessions with only two Q1 eliminations. Only the top five in the championship have done better in this regard! Consistent throughout, Hadjar failed to finish only three Grands Prix this season (Melbourne, Silverstone, Losail). His performances this year have earned him a promotion to Red Bull as teammate of Max Verstappen in 2026.

Propelled to the forefront of Mercedes Benz after the departure of Lewis Hamilton in Classic Ferrari for saleGeorge Russell embraced his new status within the German team. Facing competition from a still inconsistent Andrea Kimi Antonelli, the Englishman became the star of the squad. This equals his best result, achieved in 2022. If the Mercedes engine lives up to its promise for 2026, George Russell, who has completed every lap of the 2025 season, could well be the man to beat next season.

Far from their best in Formula 1, Ferrari finished the 2025 season on top of the world in Endurance racing. Powered by a 499P that was superior to the competition at the start of the season, Antonio Giovinazzi, Alessandro Pier Guidi, and James Calado, already winners of the 24 Hours of Le Mans In 2022, they guided the Prancing Horse to the Drivers' World Championship title after establishing a significant advantage over their rivals in the first half of the season. Third in a Ferrari 1-2-3 finish at the 1812 km of Qatar, the trio then secured two consecutive victories at the 6 Hours of Imola and the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps before achieving their fourth podium finish of the year at Le Mans (3rd). The second half of the season proved more challenging with disappointing results at São Paulo (11th) and Fuji (15th), but top-five finishes at Austin (5th) and Bahrain (4th) were enough to clinch the world title. To top it all off, Ferrari also secured the Constructors' World Championship.

Ferrari has dominated the 24 Hours of Le Mans for the past three seasons. Returning to sports prototypes in 2022 after a half-century absence, the Maranello-based firm won the Sarthe classic upon its return to the pinnacle of endurance racing with Antonio Giovinazzi, Alessandro Pier Guidi, and James Calado in the #51 499P. A year later, Antonio Fuoco, Nicklas Nielsen, and Miguel Molina triumphed at Le Mans with the #50. Third time's the charm, as in 2025, the Italian manufacturer's third car crossed the finish line victorious, driven by Robert Kubica, Yifei Ye, and Phil Hanson. This was the trio's only win of the season, but what a victory it was! Second in the first round in Qatar, the crew of the #83 Ferrari finished as runners-up in the drivers' championship. He also added to his trophy collection with the Hypercar World Cup title, reserved for customer teams. However, the competition was relatively mild in this particular category, with only one Porsche 963 from Proton Competition as an opponent.

6. Oscar Piastri

For a long time, Oscar piastri was a potential world champion in 2025. Leading the overall standings for 15 weekends, with a 34-point advantage over Lando Norris and 104 seconds behind Max Verstappen after his victory at the Dutch Grand Prix, the Australian was on course for a world title that seemed inevitable. However, the Melbourne native collapsed in the second half of the season, failing to secure another Grand Prix victory after Zandvoort. The terrible downward spiral from Azerbaijan to Las Vegas (a retirement, a disqualification, and no podium finishes) saw the former protégé ofAlpine He lost the lead to his teammate Lando Norris. Even Max Verstappen, after his incredible comeback, denied him the honorary title of runner-up. Oscar Piastri missed his chance to become world champion in 2025. Will he even have another one?
