Mercedes-AMG GT2 PRO: a beast exclusively for the track

Mercedes-AMG has lifted the veil on its latest creation reserved for track days, the GT2 PRO. A beast of nearly 800 horsepower for Étoile customers, hungry for thrills.

Mercedes Benz-AMG is expanding the catalog for its customers with a brand new racing car: the Mercedes-AMG GT2 PRO, a racing car approved only for outings on the track.

This new model is based on the Mercedes-AMG GT2 presented in 2022 and which delights its owners involved in particular in the GT2 European Series, one of the championships in the SRO universe. This PRO version is still distinguished by “ additional, innovative design and performance features. » She addresses “ motorsport enthusiasts who want to access extraordinarily high dimensions of performance on the circuit. At the same time, it still meets the usual high safety standards of Mercedes-AMG sports customer models.. » To this we can add exceptional maneuverability and intuitive use according to the German manufacturer.

Among the technical new features, this Mercedes-AMG GT2 PRO features a Push-to-Pass system which can be found in IndyCar or previously in DTM For example. Activated by a button on the steering wheel, this boost temporarily increases the performance of the AMG 8-liter twin-turbo V4. Thus, the power increases from 707 to 750 hp in a matter of seconds. This extra power is transmitted through a six-speed sequential racing gearbox with modified ratios.

In terms of aesthetics, this Mercedes-AMG GT2 PRO will be delivered to its customers in a full matte gray paint job with decorative stripes and GT2 PRO logos. Inside, we obviously get closer to the world of racing with few elements reminiscent of the German firm's production cars. Only the controls on the large central console are present and we even see an air conditioning fan like in the cockpits of GT3 type racing cars. To which must be added a “sporty” steering wheel.

While the Mercedes-AMG GT2 released in 2022 peaks at 409.000 euros including tax, the PRO is close to 480.000 for a final price placed at 479.000 including tax. As a small bonus, each owner will receive a complete Puma branded clothing kit including a personalized racing suit, gloves, competition underwear and shoes. In addition, a Bell helmet is included in the set.
