Mercedes-AMG rewarded for Project ONE hypercar

The Mercedes-AMG hypercar Project ONE receives an award (Photo: Mercedes)Mercedes-AMG has been awarded the Royal Automobile Club's Dewar Trophy for implementing their F1 powertrain into the Project ONE hypercar.
Since 1957, the Dewar Trophy has been awarded for “outstanding British technical achievement in the automotive field over the previous year. » This year, this award from the Royal Automobile Club went to Mercedes-AMG for incorporating the powertrain into their Project One hypercar.
“Receiving the Dewar Trophy from the Royal Automobile Club is a huge honor for everyone involved in the development of the Mercedes Benz-AMG One », said Adam Allsopp, director of advanced technologies at Mercedes-AMG HPP. “Giving owners the opportunity to get a small taste of what has contributed to the success of the Mercedes-AMG F1 team in Formula 1 in the hybrid era, and making it road legal without losing Formula 1 DNA was a huge challenge, but one that we fully embraced. We are very happy to have made this a reality. »

Apart from a Drag Reduction System (DRS), the hypercar also features active aerodynamics, adaptive suspension, a carbon monocoque and a high-tech drivetrain.
