Here is a new creation in the national motorsport landscape: THE TOY. A multifunctional car, designed both for racing and for training young drivers coming out of the world of karting.
Made in France, this project is the fruit of the idea of Yannick Baillat, Olivier Maroselli and Antoine Dugué, supported by French shareholders motivated by their common interest in automobiles and motor sports.
Based on a tubular chassis, THE TOY features a 4 horsepower 1.8 turbo 300-cylinder engine installed transversely on the rear axle, while a robotized sequential SADEV gearbox controlled by steering wheel paddles transmits the power to the wheels. The ground connections are ensured by superimposed triangles and spring-shock absorber combinations on the front and rear axles. During the development of the project, the emphasis was placed on the need to reduce operating costs. Thus, the sizing of wear parts, in particular bearings, ball joints, brake pads and discs, was defined with a view to spacing out replacement times as much as possible.

Carbon footprint at the heart of THE TOY project
At a time when everyone is trying to pay more or less attention to their emissions, THE TOY is part of this trend. As a result, its engine will be powered by a fuel made up of 85% second-generation bioethanol, derived from the distillation of wine waste, grape marc. In a second phase, the goal is to quickly switch to E100, 100% ethanol, which will reduce the carbon footprint by up to 90%. Even the vehicle body is affected. While the first model was made of fiberglass-reinforced polyester resin, a highly innovative solution is expected: flax fiber combined with a 50% bio-sourced resin, already used to shape the dashboard. Ultimately, the use of flax fiber for the manufacture of all trim elements represents a 70% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions compared to fiberglass.
Production will begin in small series in the Cévennes region, while the R&D workshop will be based in Teloché, near Le Mans.
