Will the fifth season be the right one? Richard Verschoor, the most experienced driver on the grid, Formula 2, made a great start to the championship in his fifth year in the category. The MP Motrosport rider won the main race in Saudi Arabia, beating Jak Crawford and Victor Martins, who were first and second on the grid.

The Dutchman also took the lead in the championship, confirming his excellent start to the season. With 53 points, he is ahead of Campos driver Pepe Marti, winner of the sprint race in Bahrain (41 points). Leonardo Fornaroli, impressive at the wheel of the Invicta champion with Gabriel Bortoleto last year, completes the podium. The champion of F3 (40 points) is a credible candidate to win F3 and then F2 in quick succession, like the Brazilian before him.

However, he will have to be wary of other rookies Alex Dunne (35 pts) and Luke Browning (33 pts), but also of the more experienced Victor Martins (28 pts) and Jak Crawford (20 pts). The Frenchman is 6th in the championship, but is already almost thirty points behind Richard Verschoor.

The other Frenchman, Sami Meguetounif, has still not scored a single point with Trident, who are also the only team not to have opened their account.
