Alex Dunne's path crossed with Victor Martins' many times this season. From a collision in the pit lane in Barcelona, another at the start in Monaco, and a final contact in Abu Dhabi, the two men clashed frequently on the track. For better... and especially for worse.
Good news: they will no longer have to cross swords in the coming months. While the Frenchman is leaving ART GP and the Formula 2The Irishman, for his part, has just extended his partnership with Rodin. He will be joined by Norwegian Martinius Stenshorne, who competed alongside him in the last two rounds of 2025.
“I am delighted to be staying with Rodin for the 2026 season,” Dunne savors it. "I've built excellent relationships with the whole team and our collaboration is very positive. I'm convinced we'll be in contention for the title next year."

Dunne still without an academy
After a brilliant start to the season, Alex Dunne impressed and established himself as the title favorite. With two wins and six other podium finishes, he was a consistent contender at the top of the standings. However, the Rodin driver also made headlines for the wrong reasons. His numerous collisions and penalties resulted in 12 penalty points on his Super Licence and would have received a one-race suspension after Abu Dhabi had the season not been completed. His ban will not be carried over to 2026, where he will have the opportunity to improve upon his 5th place finish in the Drivers' Championship.
During the year, Alex Dunne made his debut in Formula 1 by participating in Free Practice 1 in Austria, where he impressed by setting the 4th fastest time. But a few weeks later, the Irishman ultimately left the academy. Woking by mutual agreement, due to a lack of shared perspectives on its future.
Once considered a likely candidate to join the Red Bull Junior Team, the boy ultimately did not get the favour of Helmut Marko and now finds himself without support from a Formula 1 team to help him.
