  • Clearly, Paul Aron (Hitech GP) is very comfortable with the flying lap exercise launched in recent weeks. Seven days after pole position in Hungary, his second this 2024 season after Spain, the Estonian did it again this Friday in Belgium where the 10th round is taking place.
  • On a completely dry tarmac and sheltered from the Ardennes showers, the former protégé of Mercedes was the only driver to go below the 1'57 mark with a best lap of 1'56"959. This allowed him to push back Gabriel Bortoleto (Invicta Racing) to 0“168 on the line. The Brazilian wanted to try his luck one last time but despite a first sector lit in purple, he finally took his foot off the gas, securing the front row for the Main Race on Sunday (10:00 a.m.).
  • A contender for pole position, Isack Hadjar (Campos) finished 3rd. The Habs gestured in his cabin a few moments after crossing the finish line, complaining about the activation of “safety” mode on his car. Enough to perhaps explain the 2 tenths difference with Paul Aron. Jak Crawford (DAMS) and Andrea Kimi Antonelli (Prema) completed the Top 5.
  • Zak O'Sullivan (ART Grand Prix) inherited pole position for the Sprint Race this Saturday (14:15 p.m.) due to his 10th place. A Sprint Race in which Paul Aron will start from 20th place on the grid. Indeed, he must serve a penalty of 10 places for his collisions in Hungary during the Main Race last Sunday.
  • For Victor Martins (ART Grand Prix) hopes of a good performance went up in smoke barely 5 minutes after the start of the session. The Habs were forced to stop on the track in the third sector, apparently the victim of a mechanical problem.

“The Tricolore gesticulated in his cockpit” Excellent! For Victor on the other hand it was more like annihilation... Alas...
