Having secured the Formula 2 title in the penultimate round of the season, Leonardo Fornaroli didn't know he had won until he crossed the finish line!

Finishing second in the Main Race at Losail, Qatar, Leonardo Fornaroli did what was necessary to clinch the championship title. Formula 2, before the last two races of the season, in Abu Dhabi. Starting from pole position, the Italian driver lost the advantage at the start to Victor Martins, who ultimately won.

When he crossed the finish line, the new champion congratulated himself on his performance, telling his team that he had done everything he could to overtake Martins and that he was now focused on Abu Dhabi. It was at this moment that Invicta finally told him it was official: he was the 2025 F2 champion!

« I can't believe it, I wasn't expecting it! I was focused on the race, Victor got off to a good start and overtook me, and it was difficult to stay with him, I did my best.he said into the microphone of the international signal. "The goal was to score good points and I didn't expect to win the title; when I was told it was done, I couldn't believe it."

Champion F3 Last year, Fornaroli continued his winning streak by securing a second consecutive title, despite a situation that had changed considerably compared to twelve months prior. Adapting to the F2 machine was compounded by adapting to a new working environment at Invicta.

If Fornaroli can approach next week's Abu Dhabi race without pressure, he will be keen to bring the team title back to his team: "I'll be able to drive in Abu Dhabi with less pressure, but we need to keep pushing because we're still fighting for the team title, and we'll give it our all to make sure the season is even better."
