- After Free Practice this Friday morning, Zane Maloney (Rodin Motorsport) confirmed his good form with pole position at Monza, his first in two years in the category. Facing him, the Barbadian had a great opponent in the person of Isack Hadjar (Campos), leader of the championship.
- At the Temple of Speed, everything came down to the final moments after a session marked by two red flags. His time of 1'32"160 was threatened but he finally held on by 89 thousandths. Behind them, Paul Aron (Hitech GP), Dennis Hauger (MP Motorsport) and Victor Martins (ART Grand Prix) completed the Top 5. An encouraging result for the latter who is not having an easy season. Now, the Tricolore can look forward to a good result on Sunday in the Main Race (10:05).
- For his part, Gabriel Bortoleto (Invicta Racing) will have to work hard if he wants to get a good result in Italy. Indeed, the comeback awaits him for the rest of the weekend since he made a mistake with serious consequences. Attacking for his first flying lap, the Brazilian missed his chance at the exit of the first Lesmo. By going too far out, the runner-up to Isack Hadjar lost control of his car and ended his race in the gravel causing a red flag. Once the session restarted, the Auriverde fell to last place.
- Victim of a violent exit from the track during EL1 in F1 with Mercedes, Andrea Kimi Antonelli (Prema) showed character by taking 6th place. In addition, he once again beat his teammate Oliver Bearman, 8th under the checkered flag.
- Tenth, 4 tenths behind Zane Maloney in qualifying, Enzo Fittipaldi (VAR) inherited pole position for the Sprint Race (Saturday 14:15 p.m.).
