Four years after the start of his career in car, Nikola Tsolov will burst into the antechamber of the Formula 1. At the end of a successful 2025 season, the driver supported by Red Bull will, unsurprisingly, be retained by the Spanish team Campos Racing, who have taken the decision to move him from the Formula 3 , Formula 2Second in the championship this year after the ten rounds on the programme, the Bulgarian Lion was unable to do anything against the hegemony of Rafael Câmara (Trident), but still managed to surpass his teammate Mari Boya in his fight for the honorary title of vice-champion.
A two-time winner in 2025, in Bahrain and Monaco, he could have even secured a third victory at the Red Bull Ring in Austria, but a disqualification after the finish prevented him from rekindling a fight for the title that was still possible at the time. It is therefore at the end of his third consecutive season in F3 that the former ART Grand Prix driver reaches the next level.
A welcome departure for Tsolov
22nd in the championship in 2023, 11th last year, the man who managed to become Spanish Formula 4 champion on his first attempt in 2022 finally seems to have found the measure of his full potential in this season which ended at Monza. Still slightly inconsistent during the most important moments – the Bulgarian, for example, had chosen to start on slick tires at the start of a race which began in the rain at Silverstone, thus losing his entire lead – Nikola Tsolov had the merit of demonstrating his speed.

Fast on the track, capable of demonstrations in qualifying, it is with the help of the Red Bull network, now well established at Campos, that the Bulgarian can finally continue his rise. “I am extremely happy to take the next step in my career and move to Formula 2 with Campos Racing once again, he rejoicedTogether we have worked very hard and achieved success in F4 Spain and Formula 3, which gives me great confidence for next season. This is one step closer to my dream, and I will fight harder than ever to achieve great results."
While in F3, three drivers make up each team on the grid, F2 only allows two drivers to fill a crew. So, while this season, Campos lined up Spaniard Pepe Marti as well as Briton Arvid Lindblad, it seems that this new move confirms Red Bull's decision to make its young protégé, who has held a Super Licence since the summer, a regular at the Racing Bulls team from the 2026 season.
