For the promotion categories too, the wait was long. Three months after the last round of Formula 2 in Abu Dhabi, six months after the final of the Formula 3 At Monza, these two championships return with new challenges, supporting the Australian Grand Prix. Formula 1 in Melbourne. The favorites are clearly identified, the stakes are known, but will the results live up to expectations as was partly the case a year ago on this same track?

In Formula 2, the man to beat is undoubtedly Rafael Câmara. An Invicta driver since this winter and the reigning Formula 3 champion with Trident, the Brazilian starts this new season as the favorite. Having topped the preseason tests in Barcelona, he is expected to be at the front this weekend. Alongside him, Joshua Dürksen, his teammate at the British team, will also be expected to perform well in his second season, as will drivers like Alex Dunne (Rodin), Dino Beganovic (DAMS), and Colton Herta (Hitech), who is making his F2 debut.

Even earlier, Formula 3 will kick off the season car at Albert Park. As usual, the Trident drivers will be closely watched for their performances, starting with Câmara's designated successor: Freddie Slater. Crowned FRECA champion last year, the Briton also set the fastest time in testing at Barcelona and remains the favorite among observers. His teammates Matteo De Palo and Noah Stromsted (the latter already having a year of experience in the category) should not be overlooked, nor should the Campos drivers, who are always on the lookout. Besides Formula Regional Oceania champion Ugo Ugochukwu, Frenchman Théophile Nael already stood on the podium in Melbourne in 2025, in his F3 debut. He will be one to watch closely, as will his fellow French drivers Alessandro Giusti (MP) and Enzo Deligny (VAR), among the most ambitious on the grid as the season begins.
