Trident announces its second pilot for Abu Dhabi

Alongside Laurens Van Hoepen, Thai driver Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak will drive for Trident in Abu Dhabi before joining ART GP in 2026.

Trident announces its second pilot for Abu Dhabi

In just a few weeks, Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak will have driven in both seats of the French team. Formula 2Before replacing Victor Martins at ART GP next season, the Thai driver will race for Trident in Abu Dhabi, in the seat occupied by Sami Meguetounif at the start of the season.

The Frenchman has since relinquished his seat from Baku onwards, ending his Formula 2 season by mutual agreement with the Italian team. Initially replaced by Norwegian Martinius Stenshorne in Azerbaijan, Sami Meguetounif will be replaced by Inthraphuvasak in Abu Dhabi.

"I am really excited to be racing in the final round of the Formula 2 Championship with Trident Motorsport.", rejoices the one who wore the colors of Campos in Formula 3. "This is a great opportunity, and I want to thank everyone who made it possible. I'm looking forward to making the most of this weekend and preparing as best I can for next season."

“We are pleased to be able to field Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak in the final round of the Formula 2 Championship season,” assures Giacomo Ricci, the director of Trident. “I consider him one of the most talented drivers we have seen this year in Formula 3. We had the opportunity to observe Tasanapol’s skills at the Macau Grand Prix, where he raced with us and immediately demonstrated his speed and competitiveness. Although he is making his debut in the category, I am sure he can also perform well at the Yas Marina circuit.”

Sixteenth in the Macau Grand Prix, Inthraphuvasak made a particularly strong impression in F3, where he helped guide Campos to the Teams' title, notably winning the final race of the season at Monza. Alongside him, Laurens Van Hoepen will make his third consecutive guest appearance with Trident, bringing the total number of drivers fielded in F2 this season to six: Sami Meguetounif and Max Esterson until Monza, Laurens Van Hoepen since Baku, Martinius Stenshorne in Azerbaijan, James Wharton in Qatar, and Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak.
