  • Ultimately, the gap between the pole sitter and his runner-up was more than large. If 55 thousandths initially separated Ollie Bearman (Prema) from poleman Gabriel Bortoleto (Invicta), the former was not spared by the race management who withdrew his best time for non-compliance with track limits.
  • This then allowed Isack Hadjar (Campos) to gain a position in the qualifying rankings. Third on the checkerboard, the Frenchman moved up to second place, finishing 2 seconds behind Gabriel Bortoleto's pole position in 1'27"056. For Ollie Bearman, things turned sour as he fell to 16e place ! Same case for his teammate Andrea Kimi Antonelli, moved from 4e the 18e position on the grid for the two races of the weekend propelling Joshua Durksen (AIX Racing) to third place.
  • Zane Maloney (Rodin Motorsport) also did well in this story of track limits. The championship leader, who finished the session in 6e place, finished at the foot of the Top 3 just ahead of Roman Stanek (Trident).
  • Having made a mistake in the first part, Franco Colapinto (MP Motorsport) caught up and managed to record a time which placed him in 10e stealing pole position for the Sprint Race this Saturday (14:15 p.m.).
  • Second Frenchman engaged in F2, Victor Martins (ART Grand Prix) was struck by bad luck. At the start of the last flying laps, the Ile-de-France driver was unable to restart while his mechanics worked on the left-rear suspension triangle and brake. He could not do better than 19e.
  • For Gabriel Bortoleto, this is his second pole position of the season, the first real one. In Bahrain at the start of the season, he recovered that of his teammate Kush Maini after the latter's disqualification.
