PREMA has chosen the driver who will replace Oliver Bearman in Baku this weekend (13-15 September) for the penultimate round of Formula 2. Gabriele Minì is the lucky one chosen to take the seat of the Briton, himself a replacement for Kevin Magnussen in Haas in Azerbaijan since the Dane was fined of a suspension raceThe Italian will experience his first Formula 2 meeting, having just finished vice-champion of Formula 3 after a breathtaking finale against Leonardo Fornaroli. A choice far from being a surprise since Gabriele Minì notably spent his F3 season with PREMA.

Gabriele Minì, member of the academy Alpine, will therefore join his colleagues Victor Martins and Kush Maini at the start of the Azerbaijani round. “I am very happy to join PREMA for the Formula 2 event in Baku. We had a great season in 2024 and fought for the title until the last corner. Formula 2 is the main option for 2025, so it is also very important to commit early to Baku. It is a good opportunity for me to learn with the new car and this new championship.”
“We are looking forward to seeing Gabriele make his Formula 2 debut, says René Rosin, Team Principal of PREMA, happily. It is very rewarding to see him step up to the top of the promotion ladder after making his debut with our team in 2020. It will be a valuable opportunity for both him and the team. On the other hand, we wish Ollie all the best on his second start in Formula 1 and look forward to having him back at the end of the year.”
