The Briton is currently in third place in the general classification of drivers of Formula 2. Yet, even before his recent performances, Red Bull has continued to rely on Arvid Lindblad's precocious talent to plan for his future. Third in F4 Italy in 2023, winner of the Macau Grand Prix the same year, and more recently champion of Formula Regional Oceania at the start of this year, the young driver is gaining momentum and continues to attract attention.
Winner of the Main Race in Barcelona, the Campos driver is indeed gaining momentum within the Red Bull fold. So much so that the Austrian academy could see the FIA's upcoming review of the matter as a boon. The Race reported this Thursday that a discussion is expected to take place within the sport's governing body regarding the possibility of granting the Londoner the precious pass.
Lindblad considered Antonelli?
While Helmut Marko, head of the young drivers program within the Red Bull group, stated last March that Arvid Lindblad had already completed a 300 km test on board a Formula 1 on the Emilia-Romagna circuit, the Austrian took the Super Licence obtained by the driver as an example Mercedes Kimi Andrea Antonelli before she turned 18.
Indeed, article 13.1.2 of Appendix L of the FIA International Sporting Code specifies in this regard: “At the sole discretion of the FIA, a driver judged to have recently and consistently demonstrated exceptional ability and maturity in Formula One racing car can be granted a Super License at the age of 17. »
Although there are no certainties within the Red Bull clan at this stage, the team only has Ayumu Iwasa as an option that meets the FIA's requirements to move up to Formula 1 with the aim of replacing one of the current drivers. Paradoxically, despite the very large number of young drivers monitored by the academy, Arvid Lindblad is both the most promising at the moment, but also the closest to achieving his greatest goal.
Among the options available, a medium-term replacement for Liam Lawson has not been mentioned, especially since the New Zealander seems to be gaining confidence again with Racing Bulls. Nevertheless, this possibility seems more than credible in the event of similar results until the end of the season. Furthermore, Red Bull is also aware that the availability of Arvid Lindblad could allow the team to have an extra string to its bow in the event of a new penalty. Max Verstappen in Austria.

Let's hope that this good Doktor Helmoooooooout doesn't intend to propel Hadjar into the 2nd Red Bull in August when Lindblad turns 18 and can thus start in the second Ridiculous Bulls alongside Lawson!
