Cock-a-doodle-doo! After a far from restful start to the season, Théophile Naël (VAR) and Alessandro Giusti (MP Motorsport) are smiling again. After a good qualifying session – 5th and 6th – the two young men managed to climb onto the podium in the main race behind the untouchable poleman Rafael Camarâ.

The Brazilian built his victory from the start, where thanks to a good start, he was never troubled again. His fourth pole in five weekends has been transformed into his third victory, already, confirming the talent that has been detected Ferrari Rafael Câmara. His runner-up in the general classification, Nikola Tsolov, wanted to build on his victory in Monaco, but the Bulgarian, second on the grid, missed his start and lost many positions. Having climbed back to fifth place, he limited the damage.

The start was also very eventful for Alessandro Giusti, who was almost pushed out at the second corner by Santiago Ramos, who suddenly returned to the track after cutting the first bend. The Frenchman, supported by Williams, continued his race having lost a place, then made a good comeback thanks to the safety cars which punctuated the event.

The first collision involved Roman Bilinski (Rodin), who had started from pole position in the sprint race, and José Garfias (AIX) on lap 3. Further back in the race, Brando Badoer (Prema) and Nicola Lacorte (DAMS) collided at the first corner, ending their race in the first corner gravel trap. The race resumed with five laps to go, with Camarâ leading ahead of Naël and Laurens Van Hoepen (ART GP), who had to hold off Sandro Giusti for five laps.

He waited until the last lap to find the opening under braking for the first corner, aided by the DRS, which allowed him to complete a double French podium. This is Giusti's first in F3 and second from Naël, third in the main race in Melbourne at the start of the season.
