The 2026 season of Formula 3 It's often presented as a battle between the Trident and Campos teams, and the second day of pre-season testing in Barcelona certainly reflected this anticipated fight. In the morning, Freddie Slater and Noah Strømsted secured a one-two finish for the Trident team, with the reigning FRECA champion building a lead of nearly three-tenths of a second over his teammate. In the afternoon, Campos responded by simply placing all three of its drivers in the top three positions.

Ugo Ugochukwu, the recent Formula Regional Oceania Trophy champion, was fastest, ahead of his teammates Patrick Heuzenroeder and Théophile Naël. The Frenchman, who is aiming for the title this year, edged out fourth-placed Brando Badoer by five tenths of a second, demonstrating that the reigning Spanish team champions have lost none of their edge. For Heuzenroeder, this is an important result as he looks to make his mark, since he is replacing the injured Ernesto Rivera for these three days of testing.

Enzo Deligny, who set the sixth fastest time in the afternoon session, caused the only red flag of the day when he went off into the gravel at the very end. The third French driver, Alessandro Giusti, finished fifteenth in the morning session and nineteenth in the afternoon. Testing in Barcelona continues on Thursday with the third and final day.
