Formula 3 2026 – Championship standings after the Melbourne round

After a lively first meeting in Australia, the drivers' championship Formula 3 has its first leader. Ugo Ugochukwu took the top spot in the standings after his victory in Sunday's feature race in Melbourne. The Campos driver won after a controlled race, taking the lead from the opening laps and maintaining first place until the finish, despite two safety car interventions that neutralized the end of the event.

Behind him, Freddie Slater finished second for Trident and now holds the same position in the championship with 18 points, tied with Bruno Del Pino. The Van Amersfoort Racing driver, winner of the previous day's sprint race, completes the provisional championship podium. Several drivers remain close in the standings after this first weekend. Taito Kato sits in fourth place with 16 points for ART Grand Prix, while his French teammate Enzo Deligny is fifth with 12 points.

The first points were also scored by Maciej Gładysz, Brad Benavides, Pedro Clerot, and Jin Nakamura, while several favorites left Melbourne with a more modest tally. This was particularly true for Théophile Naël, who started from pole position but was penalized in the feature race, leaving him with only two championship points. After this first round in Australia, the standings remain wide open in a Formula 3 championship that will consist of 20 races this season. The upcoming events should quickly confirm – or shake up – these initial rankings.
