Unlike the first day, where the drivers had to contend with a wet track in the morning, Wednesday was dry at Imola, allowing the thirty drivers entered to line up the laps on the track located in Emilia-Romagna. On home soil, it was the Italian Mattia Colnaghi who was the fastest in the morning session, while Brad Benavides took back the lead in the afternoon, thus finishing the last session of the year with the best time.
The dry track didn't prevent several drivers from crashing during the day, including Michael Shin, who caused a red flag in the final hour of running. The Hitech TGR driver was involved in an incident with his teammate Fionn McLaughlin in the morning, with both cars ending up in the gravel trap at the same spot. Frenchman Théophile Naël also had a minor crash during the morning session, but he was able to set the thirteenth fastest time in the afternoon.
FRECA leader before the final round this weekend at Monza, Freddie Slater also made a mistake, and he could only manage sixteenth place in the afternoon. Behind Benavides, De Palo, Taponen and Strømsted were present in the session, which ended at 16 p.m.
The single-seaters of F3 will now be put away until the start of the 2026 season, from March 6 to 8 on the semi-permanent track of Albert Park, in Melbourne, Australia.
