The resumption of F1 and related single-seater categories... Formula 1The Australian Grand Prix did indeed allow the F2 And so F3 returned to the circuits. For the rookies, it was their first round in the big leagues… before a forced break of several months. Given the cancellation of the Saudi Arabian and Bahrain Grands Prix, the next F3 round now remains… in Monaco, in June.
In this context, the competition organized two days of testing near Spielberg for the drivers. This way, the connection isn't completely broken for the drivers, most of whom have already completed various test runs in other categories. In this instance, the fastest time on May 20th, the first day of testing, was set by Ugo Ugochukwu. The American driver, competing with Campos, lived up to his status as championship leader, setting a time of 1:20.368. Tuukka Taponen, the Finn from MP Motorsport, posted the second fastest time, 73 thousandths of a second behind the benchmark.
On the second day, it was ART Grand Prix rider Taito Kato who set the fastest time. With a lap of 1:20.297, the Japanese rider symbolically topped the overall timesheets, ahead of Louis Sharp and Noah Stromted (Trident). The Dane having already finished third on the first day, it seems Trident is once again a force to be reckoned with in these tests. It's also worth noting the very pleasant surprise that Taito Kato delivered.
