Charles Pic was born in Montélimar, in the Drôme region, in 1990. He discovered the karting at the age of thirteen, a little later than many of his future rivals. Supported by his godfather Éric Bernard, a former driver of Formula 1He progressed rapidly through the French and then European championships before making the leap to single-seaters. In the junior series, the French driver distinguished himself through his consistency and steady improvement, particularly in Formula 1. Renault 3.5, where several victories opened the doors to GP2 for him.

Charles Pic's efforts paid off in 2012 when he secured a Formula 1 seat with Marussia, becoming one of the few French drivers on the grid at that time. In 2013, he changed direction by joining Caterham. There again, the results were modest: the team struggled at the back of the grid and scored no points, but Charles Pic distinguished himself with his consistency and spirited battles against other drivers of similar ability. Despite this, he scored no points and finished twentieth in the championship, with a best result of fourteenth place. At the start of the 2014 season, the Frenchman was replaced at Caterham and became a reserve and test driver for Lotus, contributing to the car's development through simulator work and technical support, which allowed him to remain active in the world of Formula 1.

A transition to other challenges

After a brief stint in Formula E During the inaugural 2014-15 season, where he still finished in fourth position in the Beijing round, the French driver ended his single-seater racing career.

Far from turning his back on the paddocks, he is deeply involved in the management and development of motorsport.
