The account is good for Arvid Lindblad. The Briton, went on a mission to the other side of the world this winter to obtain the Super License, has achieved his goal. By winning the title in the Oceania Regional Formula, organized in New Zealand, the 17-year-old driver has won the precious sesame which now allows him to drive in Formula 1. This title allows him to collect 18 Super Licence points which, with the cumulative points over the last two seasons counted (3rd in F4 Italy in 2023 = 7 points, 5th in F4 UAE in 2023 = 3 points, 4th in Formula 3 in 2024 = 15 points), brings his total to 43 points. A total higher than the 40 points required to obtain this famous special privilege.

Arvid Lindblad, protégé of the clan Red Bull and sheltered by Helmut Marko's gang, has dominated the FROC championship. Titled before the last two races of the season, which will take place this Sunday at Highlands Motorsport Park, the Briton has won six (so far) and taken six pole positions in the thirteen rounds contested so far.

Lindblad and Red Bull's successful bet

It must be said that all the ingredients were there to make his task easier: he was part of the M2 Competition team, defending champion for the last six editions (including when the championship was still called Toyota Racing Series), Arvid Lindblad did not have fierce competition against him: in New Zealand, he notably crossed swords with Josh Pierson (seen on the side of WEC and IMSA and entered in IndyNXT), Will Brown (Supercars champion), Matias Zagazeta (British F4 vice-champion in 2021 but without reference since) or even Tommy Smith and Michael Shin, seen at the back of the FIA F3 grid recently.

For Red Bull, the bet was successful: by preferring to enter its protégé in Oceania rather than in the Middle East, where the level of competitiveness in FRMEC is higher, the Austrian team played a nice tactical move to allow Arvid Lindblad to secure the Super Licence before the start of the season. Formula 2, which he will compete in with Campos Racing. Red Bull can now prepare more serenely for the future of its protégé, whom Helmut Marko already considers to be its future champion. According to our information, the Englishman could take part in eight Free Practice sessions in F1 this year, in order to be best prepared in the event of a start for 2026.

Still as smart and cunning as ever, this good Doktor Helmouuuut! His protégé easily triumphs in the Oceania Regional Formula on the distant tracks of New Zealand and thus joins in the list of the ex-Toyota Racing Series drivers known as Mitch Evans, Nick Cassidy, Lance Stroll (yes, yes, the only permanent contract in F1), Lando Norris, Robert Shwartzman and Liam Lawson! A way also to put pressure on Isack Hadjar if he does not meet the expectations of the Red Bull galaxy in 2025 even if Tsuhonda's place will be free for 2026
