Doriane Pin: “Winning the title is my only goal” for 2025

Dorian Pin is emerging as the main contender for the title for the 2025 season of the F1 Academy, whose first meeting of the year will take place this weekend in China. In 2024, the junior driver Mercedes had achieved three victories, five podiums and four pole positions, but had seen the title slip away to Abbi Pulling. Now entered in the British GB3 championship, the British driver leaves the way open to "Pocket Rocket", who is the favorite for this new season thanks to her speed and experience.

« I learned a lot last year, it was a bit of a roller coaster, explains Doriane Pin before embarking on this new season. There were races where we performed really well, and we had to figure out why. Then there were tougher races, and I had to recover from my mid-season injury. I learned to manage that and understand what my body needed. » Injured in the ribs last May, the Tricolor had notably declared forfeit for the 24 Hours of Le Mans, where she was to align with the Iron Dames.

« No career will always be green and beautiful, the Frenchwoman, who will once again ride for Prema this season, says. It was important for me to experience such a year. I learned a lot about myself, and the difficult times made me grow. » For 2025, Doriane Pin's ambition is clear: " Win the F1 Academy Championship. That's my only goal this year. »

Doriane Pin: “A huge opportunity to be at Mercedes”

After having proven herself in endurance, it is by being entirely focused on the car that Pin attacks this new season, unlike 2024 where she participated in the 24 Hours of Daytona as well as the first two rounds of the WEC (1812 km from Qatar and the 6 Hours of Imola) on a Lamborghini GT3 from the Iron Dames.

To continue her progress, Doriane Pin can count on the support of Mercedes. It's a huge opportunity to be here and have so many people bringing so much detail to your race preparation, on and off the track, says the 21-year-old pilot. I am honored to be here and to have this opportunity again. The team, and Toto (Wolff) also, always came to see me on the podium. He is very involved in what I do. He follows all my races and supports me enormously. I know that Gwen [Lagrue, head of the junior driver program at Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team] will always be there too. He gives me food for thought during a race weekend and that helps me improve. »

To best prepare for her quest for the F1 Academy title, Doriane Pin took part in six FRMEC races during the winter. It's so nice to run in winter, she judges. Racing is very beneficial for me because it provides a rewarding experience. The first race was aimed at keeping me in good physical shape. We know what to work on, we've made progress since last year, and that makes me happy. »

Alongside the F1 Academy, Doriane Pin will also participate in FRECA for the second consecutive year. She will also compete for the Italian Prema team.
