Second in the general classification of drivers of F1 Academy, Doriane Pin aims to take back the lead this weekend. Winner of the first race of the weekend in Miami, the Prema driver seemed to have all the tools needed to achieve another strong performance on Sunday, before the rain dampened her ambitions and her good momentum. As a result, Montreal became the venue for three races instead of two, much to the delight of the driver.

“Miami was intense but exciting, I love when there are unexpected conditions like the weather we had, it was really fun, she spoke for the site of Mercedes-AMG. Having three races this weekend in Montreal will be really beneficial when considering a series. I can't wait to get out on track and see if we can regain the lead in the championship, that's the goal."

Quick to recall his successes of the season, notably in China where everything had started well for Dorian Pin, the Frenchwoman also regrets a Saudi weekend where performance was lacking without any explanations abounding afterwards. To avoid such disappointment, the Iron Dame renews her confidence in the team entered in Formula 1 week after week.

Doriane Pin close to the Mercedes team

“To prepare for Montreal, I’m using George’s onboard camera in 2024, she specifies, while the Briton had achieved pole position in Formula 1 last year. I'll talk to him on Thursday, because we've never raced there and we only have one free practice session. It will be very important to get into condition very quickly and be competitive from the first lap."

“In Miami we discussed the track characteristics, the weather which could be unpredictable, but also tire management, racing technique and the best places to overtake, she then detailsI learned a lot from George, Kimi and the team. We chatted a bit together and now we do it before every race weekend."

Mercedes having clearly ritualized this exchange of information to help its driver better understand her weekends, the question arises as to the extension of the adventure for the Frenchwoman in the medium term. Aiming straight for Formula 1, Doriane Pin is logically one of the headliners of the series produced on the F1 Academy, and intends to give meaning to her adventure by car.

“I am very competitive and I want to win races, but I also want to create a path for those younger than me, who didn’t believe in it before but can believe in it now because they have seen girls compete and win.” she continues ambitiously.

F1 Academy for Doriane Pin, and then what?

Next year, the Mercedes-backed driver, who also drives for Prema in the FRECA category, will have to make a choice. Already entered in Endurance In the past, the Tricolore has not completely abandoned its primary vocation, and will keep a close eye on events in Sarthe this weekend. “It’s one of the most legendary races in our sport, I’m going to follow it, she rejoices. I raced there when I was 19, in 2023, and it was one of the best weekends of my life. It's a magnificent event. It's huge and takes place in France, and I would love to do it again one day."

At a crossroads at the end of 2025, can Doriane Pin consider undertaking Everest by attempting to climb to the heart of the single-seater pyramid, or a new participation in WEC is expected for her in the future? Where Jamie Chadwick, first-time participant in the 24H of Le Mans This year, she has reoriented her choices away from Formula 1, will Doriane Pin take another path?
